Gina Rinehart

Gina Rinehart, born on February 9, 1954, in Perth, is an Australian mining magnate and the Executive Chairman of Hancock Prospecting, a privately-owned mineral exploration and extraction company. Although not born in Stirling, Gina Rinehart has significant ties to the area as her father, Lang Hancock, made significant mineral discoveries in the Pilbara region, which falls under the administrative area of the City of Stirling.

Donald Bradman

Sir Donald Bradman, widely regarded as the greatest cricket batsman of all time, was born on August 27, 1908, in Cootamundra, New South Wales. Although not born in Stirling, Bradman settled in the area later in life and resided there for many years. He played cricket for Western Australia and is considered a key figure in the development of the sport in the region.

Ian Thorpe

Ian Thorpe, born on October 13, 1982, in Sydney, is an Australian former competitive swimmer who has won numerous Olympic and World Championship medals. While not originally from Stirling, Thorpe has lived and trained in the area, particularly at HBF Stadium, which is a state-of-the-art aquatic facility in the City of Stirling.

Walter Lindrum

Walter Lindrum, born on September 29, 1898, in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, was a professional billiards and snooker player. Lindrum is widely considered one of the greatest players in the history of billiards and dominated the sport during the 1930s. While not born in Stirling, he lived in the area for a considerable period of time.

Georgina Hope "Giaan" Rooney

Giaan Rooney, born on November 15, 1982, in Perth, Western Australia, is an Australian former competitive swimmer who won several Olympic medals and World Championship titles. Rooney, like Ian Thorpe, trained at HBF Stadium in Stirling. She has also worked as a television presenter.
